Bush job rating falls to all-time low: poll
Feb 27, 2006 — WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President George W. Bush's job rating has fallen to an all-time low of 34 percent, amid strong opposition to the Dubai Ports World deal and increasing pessimism over the war in Iraq, according to a CBS News poll released on Monday.

When Bush garners 52% of the vote, Democrats are quick to say that is no mandate from the people. When he gets a a 59% dissapproval rate, "Bush finally unites the nation". I didn't realize a 7 point gap was so extreme...
It's all about the ports deal though and I agree, the whole thing is fishy and Bush's stance is very questionable.
1. I'm not the "Democrats" nor am I even "a Democrat", so what does that have to do with me?
2. The headline is a joke, not a formal policy statement. It's a play on words inspired by then Governor Bush's promise, in the wake of the Clinton impeachment, to be a "uniter" not a "divider."
3. 50.7% rounds up to 51%, not 52%.
1. Never said you were a Democrat. I was simply making a point that different people use numbers in different ways as they see fit.
2. Good point. Funny. ;-)
3. I couldn't remember the actual number. I thought it was 52% but I've got nothing to back that up and too lazy to search for it so I'll agree with the 50.7%. Still a pretty big gap in the two statements for a measily 8.3%.
dpb,
I don't get you.
Are you really that stupid or do you just play stupid to throw people off?
