I invite you all to celebrate by playing this song very loudly at least once today. It's called "Birth of Ghana" and was recorded by the Trinidadian calypso singer Lord Kitchener.
Some of you might also enjoy this hour-long BBC radio documentary about Ghana. Part 1 and Part 2. It's not perfect, but it's the only hour-long documentary about Ghana's 50th birthday I know of.
