Arming our enemies
According to this AP story, the Pentagon has been selling "surplus" weapons to Iran. Nice.

Do you not feel you are misleading readers by identifying what the article describes as "parts" as "weapons"?
It's a distinction with no difference (except to a pedant).
The article is about parts for military helicopters and jets -- parts that the U.S. has been trying to keep away from the Iranian military for 25 years.
I disagree which I don't believe makes me a pedant. "Weapons" implies guns, missiles and the like. "Parts" does not.
It doesn't make dpb a pedant, it makes him just plain wrong. But hey, he considers abortion legalized murder, yet doesn't think parts of fighter jets constitutes weapons sales. I always thought dpb looked like Glen Beck, and now he sounds like him.
You know, when I was making obscure propulsion parts for attack helicopters and UCAVs, unbelievable lists of minutiae down to the average dovetail material temperature of the second stage turbine blade was heavily restricted by this silly little federal thingamabob called, uh, ITAR or something. Oh yeah, that's right, the International Traffic in Arms Regulations! It was almost...pedantic!
I made weapons, dpb; I didn't like to think about it, but that's what I did.
