Headline translation

One of my favorite Southern-isms is the the sly put-down disguised as praise.

Headline from today's AJC: "Centerfold's house in Sugarloaf has rich fabrics, restrained feel"

It's an extraordinarily polite way of saying "Alleged Hooker/Stripper's Gwinnett McMansion Looks Exactly Like You'd Expect It To"

Or, "This Hooker's House is Tacky!"

I saw this in today's AJC and thought I'd stumbled upon The Onion.

What next? A profile of a crack house off Memorial Drive?

If you had any doubt that she was classy, she has a cat named Turd.
